NORTH-East rail passengers may face delays when travelling on Saturday evenings and Sunday mornings.

During March, April and May engineering work will take place each weekend except on April 15 and 16 between York and Northallerton from 8pm on Saturdays to 10am Sundays. This work will prevent train services running between York and Darlington during these times.

On Sundays, the first Virgin Train is at 10.01am from York.

Southbound from 8pm on Saturdays a similar service will operate from Darlington to Northallerton and York; the last train unaffected departs Darlington at 7.30pm. The last coach from Darlington to Northallerton and York will be at 9.30pm. On Sunday a replacement rail coach will operate from Darlington to York at 8.30am. Scheduled trains commence with Virgin at 9.45am.

Passengers travelling on these routes are advised to check with National Rail enquiries.
