THE Northallerton First Responders have received a helping hand from the local Tesco store which has donated £500.
The store is also supporting the team by housing a new equipment locker that has been produced by local charity Chopsticks. The store will now be a collection point which will enable the team to pick up vital equipment at the start of a shift.
Team co-ordinator David Cundell said: “This donation is a massive boost to our funds and will allow us to add to our equipment, not only for operational use but also to help with recruitment and training.”
Tesco store manager Gemma Manders said: “We are delighted to be able to help the Northallerton First Responders with such a worthwhile cause.
“Having recently installed a community defibrillator in store, we realise just how important it is to have a quick response time when someone suffers a life threatening event.”
