A MAN will face a trial on an allegation he sneaked into a house and tried to unbutton the trousers of a sleeping teenager.
Anthony Raine pleaded not guilty to a charge of trespass with intent to commit a sexual offence when he appeared in court.
The 60-year-old, from Northallerton, North Yorkshire, is expected to go on trial at Teesside Crown Court in the summer.
Mr Raine was granted conditional bail by judge Tony Briggs until his next appearance – expected to be in early August.
The prosecution papers allege that Raine trespassed in the property near Northallerton on December 17 last year.
It is said that he had been in the Oak Leaf pub in nearby Leeming Bar, and other drinkers there are expected to give evidence.
The 18-year-old alleged victim was asleep downstairs on a sofa and claims she woke to find an intruder undoing her trousers.
Mr Raine's bail condition prevents him entering Leeming Bar. His address on the court papers is Grenadier Drive, Northallerton.
