A SIX-YEAR-OLD boy had to be freed from his bicycle by firefighters.

The incident happened on Ashlands Road, Northallerton, around 5.15pm on Sunday.

"A crew from Northallerton have been called to a six-year-old boy who had fallen off his bike and trapped his ankle between the pedal and bike frame," said a spokesman for North Yorkshire Fire and Rescue. "Crews used a hacksaw to free the child and he was left in the care of paramedics."
