THE Red Arrows and the Battle of Britain Memorial Flight added to the fun when an RAF base held its annual families’ day festival.

The iconic aircraft made flypasts of RAF Leeming while the famous Falcons parachute display team made a spectacular descent.

The event, which was open to all military, civilian and contractor personnel at the base included a wide variety of entertainment and activities as well as live music all day.

Project officer, Flight Lieutenant Mike Shaw, said: “It was great to see the effort put in over the last six months was worth it. I really appreciated all the positive feedback we had on the day and seeing so many people enjoying themselves.”
