CHILDREN with complex needs have been involved in a spectacular multi-sensory arts event focussing on exuberant movement play.
Students from the Dales School at Morton-on-Swale, near Northallerton, enjoyed the Tig, an inflatable space filled with colour light and music.
The Tig was created by the national group Jabadao, which was established in 1985 to create more opportunities for people of all ages and energies to be “exuberantly and physically playful.”
Inside, six dancers and acrobats play, engaging students who live with complex learning and health needs in a focussed dance event.
Sports co-ordinators Maureen Breen, said: “Spontaneous movement can be extremely exhilarating but children don’t have many opportunities in their day to explore creative movement.”
