TV antiques expert David Harper has teamed up with his brother Adrian for his latest venture.

The car-mad pair have launched the Retro Classic gallery and showroom in the picturesque village of Swainby, near Northallerton.

Adrian has been restoring and selling American classic cars from the 1960s and 1970s for more than years, trading online as retroclassiccar.com.

David is well known TV shows like Bargain Hunt and the Antiques Road Trip and more recently has received acclaim for his modernist style paintings and is currently exhibiting and selling his work from galleries in London.

The concept for Retro Classic combines an art gallery and some head-turning cars from the past.

Adrian said: “I am passionate about classic cars and apart from being a good financial investment they are great to drive and are each in their own way a unique piece of design and art.

“I was planning to expand and open a showroom anyway with a partner Tim Lomas and then over a cup of Yorkshire tea with David we thought why not brighten up the showroom walls with some of his paintings and the concept has evolved from there.”

David is similarly passionate about classic cars and has painted a collection of classic car canvasses including a Chevrolet Camaro, an AC Cobra and an E-type Jaguar to name a few.

Both the cars and the paintings are on show by private appointment only and are also for sale from this week.
