A FLOWER arranging demonstration will raise much-needed funds for a hospital's appeal for an MRI scanner.

Spring Flowers with Adam Prest, at Catterick Golf Club on Wednesday, May 11 at 1.30pm, will help boost Northallerton's Friarage Hospital scanner appeal, which is now in its final stage.

The demonstration by Mr Prest, a farmer's son from Sedgefield turned florist to the stars, starts at 2pm and is followed by afternoon tea.

Golf club captains Brian de la Haye and Val Pringle have chosen the MRI scanner appeal as their charity of the year for 2015 to 2016.

Mr Prest said: “I am proud and excited to be asked to support such a fantastic appeal and am looking forward to creating some exciting floral displays to inspiring people. Expect the unexpected - British spring flowers with a unique twist.”

Ms Pringle said: “We are delighted to help the scanner appeal and are very grateful for the support we have received so far.”

Tickets cost £15 from Ms Pringle on 01969 623849 or from the bar at Catterick Golf Club, Leyburn Road, Catterick.

A scanner for the Friarage will be a valuable resource for medical teams and a welcome addition to the diagnostic services currently available at the Northallerton hospital.
