YOUNGSTERS are having more fun at school, thanks to a local housebuilder.
Bedale Church of England primary is upgrading its playground equipment, thanks to a cash boost from Taylor Wimpey North Yorkshire.
The school, which is just a short distance from the homebuilder’s new Fox Covert development in Aiskew, has received more than £600 for the project.
A school spokesman said: “We had been hoping to improve the playground for our pupils for some time, but as you can imagine projects of this nature can be incredibly expensive.
“Thanks to Taylor Wimpey’s support, we’re able to make a start on our amazing new playground - which will make outdoor play much more fun and interactive for our children.”
Debbie Whittingham, sales and marketing director at Taylor Wimpey, said: “The environment the school provides for the children is just outstanding.
“The staff are excellent and go above and beyond to provide additional activity outside of the curriculum so as soon as we heard about the playground project, we jumped at the chance to help out.”
