A 70-YEAR-OLD man suffered life-threatening injuries in a road accident.
The accident happened on the A167 near Northallerton, North Yorkshire on Monday.
The Great North Air Ambulance was called to the scene at 11.15am to assist Yorkshire Ambulance Service paramedics who were dealing with the victim, who is said to be local to the area.
"Once stabilised on scene he was flown to the major trauma centre at James Cook hospital in eight minutes," said a spokeswoman for the GNAAS.
"During the flight he received further specialist care."
