COLLISION: Three cars have collided on the A684 at Winton Bank, near Brompton, Northallerton
A THREE-car collision closed a notorious stretch of road in North Yorkshire on Wednesday evening.
The incident took place on the A684 at Winton Bank, near Brompton, Northallerton, shortly after 5pm.
North Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Service sent two crews from Northallerton and a heavy rescue unit from Ripon to the scene, and cut a woman in her 20s free from one of the cars.
She was taken to hospital by road ambulance suffering from suspected spinal injuries.
Winton Bank has been the scene of several serious accidents over the years.
