A CONCERT to help raise money for the Friarage Hospital scanner appeal in Northallerton is being held by one of the most famous choirs in the country. The Kings Men, from Cambridge, are performing at All Saints Parish Church in the town on Tuesday, August 25.

The event is being organised by Northallerton Rotary Club with the King’s choral scholars presenting close harmony arrangements from five centuries.

Tickets are £12 for adults and £5 for under 18s and are available from Greensleeves in Northallerton, rotary club members or events@northallertonrotary.org.uk. Advanced booking is strongly advised. Organisers say the event will be a superb musical evening by a glorious vocal group which will help local good causes at the same time. All proceeds will go towards the scanner appeal and rotary charities.

The Friends of the Friarage Hospital in partnership with South Tees Hospitals Charity launched an appeal to raise £2m for the MRI scanner which they say is an essential piece of medical equipment which can be used to investigate almost any part of the body.
