THOSE who find themselves in temporary financial crisis and cannot afford to feed themselves or their family are being offered a way to find help.

A new website has been launched giving easy to follow advice for those in difficulty in the Hambleton area.

Hambleton Foodshare is a community partnership which provides emergency food parcels for people who would otherwise have to go hungry.

“For most people coming to us is a last resort,” said co-ordinator Margaret Brice.

“They only use a foodbank when they have run out of options and can’t turn to family and friends for help.

“Their circumstances vary but is often because they have lost their jobs, become incapacitated or the result of a delay in benefit payments for example.

“Hambletonfoodshare.org.uk gives information on how to get support, how to get a parcel, how to help whether it be by donations or volunteering and also has real stories.

“And their stories prove that it could happen when least expected and to anyone of us.”
