SINGERS from all over Britain, brought together by a Northallerton company, have been holding concerts at some of the most iconic abbeys, churches and historic centres of NorthYorkshire.

The 50-strong choir held concerts in 12 different locations across the region including Fountains Abbey, Bolton Castle, Hardraw Force, York Minster and Black Sheep Brewery.

The event was run by Unlimited Voices which is based in Northallerton and organises concerts and tours all over the world.

Tour manager Linda Metcalfe said:”This trip was closer to home than usual and it was fantastic to show people around Yorkshire and to hear everyone sing in our abbeys, churches, castles, gardens and even at the brewery.

“The trip has been 12 months in the planning and even though we have sung in some wonderful places around the world including St Paul’s Chapel, Ground Zero in New York, The Vatican in Rome, St Mark’s Basilica in Venice to name just a few, this trip provided us with more singing opportunities than any of our previous trips. It was an ambitious programme but our singers loved every second and being able to show off our wonderful scenery was an integral part of the package."

The group completed the tour over five days, staying in Harrogate, and worked with a group of newly qualified Yorkshire tourist guides. Over the summer Unlimited Voices is holding summer workshops at their centre in Northallerton, call 01609-889005 for information.
