THE region’s fastest-growing foodie event has reinforced its position as one of the major festivals of its kind.
Thousands turned out to enjoy the myriad tastes, sights and sounds of the now-annual Northallerton Homegrown Food Festival.
From humble beginnings in 2012, the free-to-enter event has become one of the biggest events of its kind in the region.
Around 100 stalls showcased some of the finest produce from the north of England and attracted visitors from far and wide.
And a succession of local bands entertained the gathered crowds from two stages specially set up on the town’s Applegarth for the occasion.
Food remained at the core of the event however and in the Food Theatre some of the region’s leading chefs cooked up a storm as they shared their culinary secrets with appreciative audiences.
And even the very young got into the spirit of the day, enjoying the fun at a series of special cookery workshops.
