DANCERS and teachers – and those that simply want to give it a go – are being invited to shake a leg together.
Hambleton District Council’s annual 'day of dance' is taking place next month and organisers want as many to take part as possible.
The idea behind the event is to raise awareness of dance and highlight the number and variety of classes available in the area.
Dancers of all ages and abilities have the chance to take part in different types of dance workshops from ballet and contemporary to swing, jazz and African.
New for this year is also lyrical dancing – a fusion of ballet, jazz and contemporary.
The cost is £3 per workshop or £10 for an all day ticket. Refreshments and sports massages will be available.
The event takes place on Sunday, May 17, at the Hambleton Forum in Northallerton from 9am to 4pm.
