A TEENAGER with an eye for fashion has celebrated the opening of his new hat and accessory store with an event featuring a special guest.

Adam Peacock, 19, has opened women’s hat and shoe shop The Classic Touch in Barkers Arcade, Northallerton, and invited ITV’s Pam Royle, who cut the ribbon and raised a champagne toast to mark the occasion.

Mr Peacock, who also works part-time as a personal assistant at North Yorkshire County Council and as a volunteer for Durham Constabulary in Darlington, said: “We held our grand opening on Saturday, March 7, and it was a lovely day.

“Ever since I was young I have wanted to create a shopping experience that made customers feel comfortable within a modern and stylish store, and give the best customer service possible.

“When this opportunity came along it was the perfect time for me to start my first business.

“We sell hats and fascinators perfect for the races, weddings, and other special occasions, along with matching shoes and evening bags.

“The opening event was a perfect day and I’m so pleased. I know Pam and she is coming back to buy a fascinator for a wedding in the summer.”
