A CHARITY which offers work to adults with learning disabilities has taken to the stage with a successful fundraising pantomime.

Northdale Horticulture staged its seventh annual pantomime, Robin Hood and His Merry Women recently.

The show, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Northallerton raised £1,330 for the charity.

Northallerton Rotary Club helped with the fundraising by funding the venue and helping on and off the stage, while Rita Laverick, from the theatre group Brompton Players, loaned the costumes.

Northdale Horticulture offers work-based skills to its trainees in woodwork, horticulture and crafts and can offer training in vocational qualifications.

Pantomime director Jane Corbett, the charity’s horticulture instructor, said: “The pantomime is an opportunity for all our talented actors and actresses to show case their talents. It’s a joyful evening that is a unique celebration of Northdale and its trainees.

“We are now planning to host an outdoor summer production of Grease on Friday, July 31 with a hog roast supper. More details will be released nearer the time.”
