THREE soldiers have helped the Samaritans raise nearly £600 with a fundraising fashion show.

Northallerton and the Dales Samaritans Fashion Show took place at M&Co clothing store in the town.

Residents, along with three personnel with 5 Medical Regiment, Corporal David Mills, Private Steve Rouet and Private Sam Embley gave up their spare time to step forward and help with the modelling.

The show and a raffle held on the night raised a total of £582 for the Samaritans branch.

The three soldiers were said to have even included some gymnastics on the catwalk.

A spokeswoman for the branch, which is based in Northallerton, said: “Thank you so much to all our models who were truly fantastic on the night and the three soldiers who brought their own distinctive style of modelling to the show.

“We had a wonderful night and would like to thank everyone who came and enjoyed the show. Last year we raised £429 and this year we raised £582, which is fantastic.”

Samaritans are reminding people they are on call around the clock over Christmas.
