INCIDENT: Northallerton Station
NORTHALLERTON railway station was closed temporarily last night after a person was hit by a train.
A spokesman for Northallerton Police's Safer Neighbourhood Team wrote on Twitter: "Due to an ongoing incident at Nton railway station, station is closed no trains stopping please check national rail enqs"
Later National Rail Enquiries said on its website: "A person has been hit by a train near Northallerton and this is causing delays of up to 60 minutes to trains between York and Darlington. These delays are expected to continue until the end of service."
The station re-opened about two hours later.
