MORE suspected travelling criminals have been arrested in North Yorkshire as part of a county-wide operation.
Two men from Manchester were arrested at about 2pm on Monday, November 10, at Wetherby Services, Kirk Deighton.
They were arrested following reports that two men had tried to use fake £50 notes in shops in Northallerton earlier that day.
A 36-year-old woman was also arrested on suspicion of possessing a Class B drug. All three have been released on bail.
Assistant Chief Constable Paul Kennedy leads Operation Hawk, which targets cross-border criminals.
He said: “These arrests show that police officers from North Yorkshire are continuing their efforts to ensure that communities across the force area are as safe as possible.
“Officers are taking every opportunity to disrupt the activities of those criminals who travel into the county to prevent them blighting our communities.”
Anyone who has information can contact Northallerton police on 101, using option two, or Crimestoppers on 0800-555-111.
