A TEAM of women footballers are showing pride in their shirt after gaining a £500 sponsorship deal.
Broadacres Housing Association is providing the funding to buy a new strip for Brompton Ladies, who play in the North Riding Women’s League.
Brompton Ladies currently lie second bottom of the league, with their latest result a 12-0 thrashing at the hands of high flying York City Ladies Reserves.
Louise Lowcock, captain of Brompton Ladies, said: “Like many football teams at this level we struggle to raise funds, so the sponsorship from Broadacres that enabled us to buy new strips was fantastic.
“Everybody loves the new kit. It is very eye-catching and whilst we haven’t started the season in the best of form we hope it will start bringing us some luck so we can climb up the table.”
Steve Towers, managing director of Broadacres, said: “We are always pleased to be able to support local organisations and we are delighted that our sponsorship appears to have had a positive effect on the team.”
