A LORRY driver has been arrested for alleged drink-driving after a member of the public tipped off police.
The incident involving a tanker happened on the A1(M) near Wetherby on Monday.
Sgt Paul Cording, of North Yorkshire Police's road policing group, tweetd: "Vehicle stopped near #Wetherby and driver provides a roadside breath test which is above the legal limit #Arrested.
"Driver has provided samples over 1.5 times legal limit in custody & will be charged when fit #DontDrinkAndDrive #Fatal4
"I've called the reporting person back to thank him. The consequences of a drunk driver behind the wheel of this could have been catastrophic."
