POLICE are looking for witnesses after a vehicle damaged a bridge in North Yorkshire and failed to stop and report the incident.
The bridge between Tunstall and Colburn, near Catterick Garrison, was damaged overnight between Thursday, December 23 and Friday, December 24.
A large proportion of the bridge wall was demolished after it was hit by a vehicle which did not stop at the scene.
Officers with North Yorkshire Police are now carrying out enquiries and asking for the public’s help in establishing what happened.
Police are also appealing for information about any damaged vehicle that may be involved in the incident, which they believe was the size of a large delivery vehicle.
