HE’S only six – but already little George Burgess from Catterick is a front-page star.

The youngster is featured in a special Military Moments calendar for 2017 which has been launched by the charity Little Troopers.

Its sales will raise money to help more than 150,000 children who have a parent serving for their country.

The photo has been selected along with 14 others for the calendar that shows the special moments between those serving for their country and the family they often leave behind.

George’s step-dad Daniel Babbidge is a corporal at the Infantry Training Centre Catterick and the picture was taken on the day he married George’s mum Rachel.

“George was four-years-old and our page boy on the day,” said Rachel. “He also had the very important job as ring bearer. He is now six and is being an excellent big brother to his little sister.”

She added: “When I told George about being on the calendar he was very excited and he rang his Nanny and Grandad to tell them the news - especially that he will be on the front cover.”

Charity founder Louise Fetigan said: “This moment shows the pride families have for their Soldiers. The medals show the time spent apart from their families, which can be often long and uncertain at times.”

The calendar will be on sale for £9.99 and can be ordered at LittleTroopers.net
