AN APPEAL has been launched to find homes for three cats currently in the care of a cat rescue volunteer.
Sheila McLaren has recently rehomed six out of eight cats she had been fostering, but has two left, plus a new kitten that was brought to her recently.
Becky Coates, who is helping Mrs McLaren to re-home the cats, said they are pleased the other cats went to good homes and they hope to find places for the others.
She said: "George is a two-year-old neutered black male cat and is very friendly. He was rescued by the Forestry Commission as a kitten at the side of the road. He has probably been overlooked because he is black and some people don't find black cats very interesting looking but he is such a sweet cat who loves human company and would make a lovely companion.
"He does need to be rehomed with an 18-month-old black female neutered cat called Duchess. She has been in rescue all her life and is very shy, and relies on George for confidence."
The five-week-old kitten was found by a stream in Colburn, North Yorkshire, and is also shy but is getting used to human contact and likes to play. She is mostly white with black patches.
Mrs Coates said: "We would love to find homes for these cats, so please get in touch if you can help."
