HIGH tea and a selection of sweet treats were the order of the day as a Catterick Garrison nursing home celebrated the opening of a new on-site coffee shop.
Rosedale Care Home, which offers nursing and residential care and specialist care for those with dementia, opened a new traditional tea room on Wednesday, April 13 and hosted a tea party for residents and families to celebrate.
Opening the coffee shop were residents Hildegard Elliott, 80, and Anita Gallantree, 70, who cut the ribbon to mark the official opening and kick off the tea party.
Mrs Elliot said: “It’s a lovely tea room, very cosy and a nice place to sit and chat.”
Ruth Sunter, manager at Rosedale, said: “The new coffee shop looks fantastic and we’ve had great feedback from residents and their families.
"We think that it’s important for families to feel at home here too so we thought that our self-serve tea room would be a nice place for them to socialise with their loved ones and help themselves to a cup of tea, just as they would do if they were visiting a relative at home.”
