A MAN has died following a collision between his car and an HGV near Catterick Garrison.
The accident happened at about 1.45pm Monday on Hauxwell Lane, Scotton. It involved a green Ford Focus estate car and a yellow rigid HGV. North Yorkshire Police are appealing for witnesses to come forward.
The driver of the car sustained fatal injuries and was sadly pronounced dead at the scene.
Police are also appealing for anyone who saw either vehicle prior to the collision to pass on information as it might help with the investigation.
In particular, officers are keen to speak to a couple in a red vehicle who stopped a police community support officer near to the collision to inform them of the collision, and also a pedal cyclist who stopped at the scene.
