AN investigation is underway after a motorcyclist died on a North Yorkshire road.
Police are appealing for information after the 24-year-old rider died in a single-vehicle collision in Catterick Garrison shortly before midnight.
A white Kawasaki ZX636 motorcycle was travelling east on Leyburn Road, in the Garrison, when it left the road and collided with a lamp post.
North Yorkshire police said the male rider, who was from Northallerton, was pronounced dead at the scene.
Police are appealing for anyone who saw the collision, or the motorcycle involved before the collision, to come forward.
