A MAN has been given a restraining order and ordered to undertake 200 hours of unpaid work after sending two abusive text messages to a former girlfriend.
Paul Wilkinson, 51, of Pembury Mews, Brompton-on-Swale, appeared at Northallerton Magistrates’ Court today (Friday, July 10) for sentencing after admitting to sending two abusive text messages to the woman on April 27 and June 8.
The court heard that Mr Wilkinson had been in a five month relationship with her in 2010 and that they had know each for several years.
Wilkinson was ordered to pay £85 costs, a £60 surcharge, and fined £150. He was order to carry out 200 hours of unpaid community work, and was given a restraining order lasting until further notice.
