A SUPERMARKET shopper needed hospital treatment after being knocked over by a shop worker.
The incident occurred at the Tesco store in Catterick Garrison, North Yorkshire, at the weekend.
According to witnesses, a young male staff worker was carrying baskets when he collided with a female shopper.
The woman fell over and banged her head on the floor.
A shopper who witnessed the incident said: "A young man was carrying baskets and didn't look where he was going - it was just an unfortunate accident.
"The woman fell heavily and there was quite a lot of blood.
"The lad was in a bit of a state and looked really shocked."
A spokesman for Tesco said: "We can confirm that a regrettable incident took place on Saturday.
"We have undertaken a full investigation and have spoken to the customer who was affected and will be doing so again over the next couple of days."
A spokeswoman for Yorkshire Ambulance Service confirmed that a crew was called to the store on Saturday afternoon.
She added: "We received a call on Saturday, June 20 at 1.56pm to reports that a female had fallen and hit her head.
"We sent an ambulance and rapid response vehicle and conveyed the patient to the Friarage Hospital."
