A HOUSE in Colburn, North Yorkshire, was badly damaged by fire last night.
Crews were called at 8.45pm to Forest Drive and the fire was extinguised by 9.10pm.
The blaze started in an upstairs bedroom, which was destroyed in the fire.
Other rooms upstairs were badly damaged by smoke and the rest oof the property suffered smoke damage.
Crews from Richmond, Colburn and Leyburn attended the incident.
There are unconfirmed reports on social media that the fire started when a mobile phone charger overheated, however North Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Service said an investigation into the cause of the blaze was still to be conducted.
It is understood that nobody was injured in the fire.
