DETECTIVES are investigating a serious sexual assault which took place in North Yorkshire at the weekend.
The incident happened in The Chase area of Catterick Garrison at about 4am on Saturday, August 2.
The area was cordoned off on Saturday to allow an investigation and search of the scene.
Police say the victim is receiving specialist support while the investigation continues.
Detective Chief Inspector Allan Harder, from the force’s Major Crime Unit, said: “If you were in the area of The Chase on Catterick Road at around this time, I ask that you to come forward and contact the police as you may have vital information which could help this investigation.”
