THE annual estimate of rough sleepers takes place in North Yorkshire later this month.

Hambleton District Council, along with neighbouring authorities, will undertake the count on November 22 - to give an estimate of rough sleepers from 7pm until 7am.

All local authorities have to submit an annual figure indicating the numbers of people sleeping rough in their area on a typical night.

Due to the rural nature, geographical size of the district and the heavy involvement required by partner organisations Hambleton will submit an estimate.

Anyone who knows of any rough sleepers in the area is being asked to let the council know. Contact Alison Morton by November 24 on alison.morton@hambleton.gov.uk
