A NEW man has taken over command of an historical RAF squadron as its celebrates it centenary year.
The new officer commanding RAF Leeming-based 100 Squadron is Wing Commander Nick Badel, a former Tornado GR4 pilot
The handover from Wing Commander Andy Wright came just weeks after personnel were joined by the Duchess of Cornwall to mark the squadron’s centenary.
Wg Cdr Wright said: “This has been the best tour of my life. It is such a great team and I have worked with so many great people. It has all been superb, but my lasting memory will definitely be the people.”
His successor said: “I’m taking over from someone who has done an outstanding job. This is clearly an experienced, professional squadron which has a good culture and high morale.”
