THE number of speed camera vans on North Yorkshire's roads is set to double.
Six transit-sized vans make up part of North Yorkshire Police's mobile speed camera fleet and the force is investing in an additional six smaller vehicles which will be used in villages and built-up areas.
Speaking to the BBC, chief constable Dave Jones said: "The vans will be fitted with cutting edge technology so the quality for the evidential process is absolutely superb. It's all about making sure people stay safe on our roads."
