POST Office services are set to return to two Hambleton villages with the introduction of a mobile service.

But the new service for Scruton, near Northallerton, and Well, near Bedale, will mean changes to current mobile Post Office provision at Carthorpe, Crakehall and Leeming.

The Post Office is now inviting comments in a six-week public consultation.

It is proposed the service would operate at Scruton opposite the Coore Arms from 2.30pm to 3pm on Tuesday; and opposite Manor House, Well, from 12.30pm to 1pm on Tuesday.

Carthorpe mobile service will change to 1.30pm to 2pm on Tuesday; Crakehall service will move to 9am to 10.30am on Monday; 9.30am to10.30am on Thursday, and 1.45pm to 2.45pm on Friday.

The Leeming service will change to 3.15pm to 4pm on Tuesday; 11.30am to 1pm on Wednesday, and 3pm to 4pm on Friday.

The consultation will close on April 21. Submissions can be made via Freepost YOUR COMMENTS, Post Office Ltd, email to comments@postoffice.co.uk, or the customer helpline on 08457-223344.
