SUPPORTERS of a community library are being asked to befriend the volunteer group to help raise money to launch the new venture and keep it afloat.
Friends of Bedale Library is a support group for the community library and needs to raise £2,000 a year to ensure it carries on. They’re asking 133 friends to make a donation of £15 each to help establish the new community group.
A special evening is being held for friends on March 2 in Bedale Hall to celebrate the launch at 7pm. Award winning Yorkshire writer David Young will be talking about his latest thriller Stasi Wold and there will be readings by local children and adults.
There will be a cash bar serving wine and soft drinks, nibbles, a raffle and a book stall. Membership forms are available from Bedale Library or by email bedalecommunitylibrary@gmail.com
