A POPULAR choir is planning to expand – and is looking for more singers to join its ranks

The North Yorkshire Chorus, which currently has around 70 members, rehearses in Northallerton every other Saturday afternoon and performs two main concerts each year, usually in Bedale, Northallerton, Thirsk or Richmond. There are also occasional smaller performances.

An open rehearsal is being held on January 14 at Northallerton Methodist Church Hall, from 2pm to 3.30pm.

It is a chance for potential new singers to see if they would like to sing with a high quality classical choir. No experience or ability to sight read music is necessary and there are no auditions. A love of singing and music is all that is required.

The choir’s next concert is on May 13 at 7.30 pm in the Forum, Northallerton.
