A SPECIAL casino evening to raise funds for vital physiotherapy to help “locked-in syndrome” sufferer Steve Walsh made over £1,480.
Steve, from Leeming, near Bedale, suffered a catastrophic stroke three years ago and was left unable to move, communicating through eye contact. His family say physiotherapy treatment by Mark Wilkinson, of Paragon Physiotherapy has helped enormously, but sessions cost £350. Steve’s wife Michaela said: “It really has given him a lift, he has much greater movement, Mark is really positive and it’s a huge boost. I can’t thank people enough for their support.” For information, facebook.com/HalyconTrustForSteveWalsh
