A HERITAGE railway is due to turn its attention to classic cars this weekend.

North Yorkshire Moors Railway will be hosting an array of vintage vehicles at its stations across the moors on Saturday (July 9) and Sunday (July 10).

Levisham, Goathland and Grosmont Stations will be showcasing models including Richard Hammond’s top classic cars. Scarborough and District Railway Modellers will also be in attendance with their miniatures, while there will be refreshments and a real ale bar at Levisham Station.

Chris Price, general manager at North Yorkshire Moors Railway, said: “Every year the railway looks forward to the Classic Cars and Vehicles Weekend, this year is set to be no different.

"We can’t wait to see some fantastic cars and motorbikes from past decades all turning out for what is sure to be a weekend to remember.”

“Both dyed-in-the-wool enthusiasts and novice heritage railway visitors will enjoy the spectacle.”

The railway operates daily during the main season between Leeming Bar and Redmire and on to Northallerton on Wednesday and Saturday.
