THE first Bedale Monthly Market will take place later this month featuring local producers with an emphasis on artisan foods as well as some non-food items.

It will set up its stalls on Sunday, October 18, from 10am to 3pm and will continue on the third Sunday of each month.

The event is the latest venture from Yorkshire Food Markets, which also helps organise Scarborough Food Fair and Malton Monthly Food Market.

Co-organiser Caroline Anderson said: “We are hoping Bedale Monthly Market will become the best place locally to shop on Sunday, where people can find good food, relax and enjoy a coffee and a bite to eat.

“There will be a varied choice of traders, including a company making freshly-made pizza with their own wood-fired oven.”

She added: “We would like to say thank you to Bedale Town Council for their support and help in setting up the market."

There will be two days of foodie stalls and locally-produced goods on November 21 and 22 while the final date for 2015 will be in time for Christmas on Sunday December 20. The market will then take a break until next March.

Dates for 2016 are March 20, April 17, May 15, June 19, July 17, August 21, September 18, October 16, November 19 and 20 and finally December 18.
