TOP comedians are appearing at a newly refurbished church hall.

Organisers of the events at the Chantry Hall in Bedale say it is a major coup for the town after securing British Comedy Award Winner and star of BBC Three's 'Uncle', Nick Helm.

Gary Delaney, who is described as a razor sharp one-liner comedian and widely regarded as the most quotable comic on the circuit, is also appearing later in the year.

One of the organisers Phil Walker said:"This is a real boost for the town, and a real feather in our cap that we have managed to get these two great comedians to Bedale.

"Nick has been enjoying huge success and sell-out dates across the country. Gary is a regular guest on Mock The Week and has also appeared on Dave's 'One Night Stand', Comedy Central's ‘The Comedy Store’ and 'Comedy Blue', and on Channel 4’s ‘Robert’s Web’. He has also been on Radio 4’s ‘Loose Ends’, Radio 5’s ‘7 Day Saturday’ and Radio 2’s ‘Russell Kane’s Whistle-Stop Tour’. He’s also written for many TV programmes including 8 Out of 10 Cats and Mock the Week.”

The Chantry hall, the biggest church hall in the Dales has undergone a £15,000 refurbishment to turn it into one of the best venues in the area. Nick Helm is at the Chantry Hall on September 25 and Gary Delaney will be there on November 28. Tickets are on sale via Eventbrite, from Hemelvaart Bier Cafe in Bedale or call John on 07968 359917.
