A TRIO of airmen will be hitting the road this weekend for a marathon fund-raiser.
The three-man team from RAF Leeming will be taking to two wheels to pedal from coast to coast in the name of charity.
Sergeant Jason Wilkinson, Sgt Brian Tumilty and Corporal Danny Meek of Logistics Squadron will cycle around 100 miles from Morecambe to Hartlepool on Sunday, August 16.
And they are hoping to raise up to £500 for the Scotty’s Little Soldiers, a charity dedicated to supporting bereaved British forces children.
Sgt Tumilty said: “We wanted to do something for both a military charity and a children’s charity and Scotty’s Little Soldiers combines both of these.
“With us all serving in the RAF, and all of us having children it seemed the logical one to go for.”
The team will be supported by driver Graham Travarthen, who will transport them to the starting line and follow on route with spares and supplies.
