SCHOOLGIRL Cara Morris is using pedal power to raise funds for children in India.
Cara, 14, a student at Bedale High School, is joining 60 other pupils and staff cycling 150 miles from Morecambe to Scarborough over three days from Thursday May 28
The route takes the group via Appletreewick, near Skipton, and Oswaldkirk, near Helmsley, and they will cover about 50 miles per day. Some of the funds raised will be sent to the Mettupalyam School in southern India to improve facilities for a class of 25 pupils.
Cara, who lives in Pickhill, near Thirsk, said: “I enjoy cycling. I like to go out and see the views so I am really looking forward to the sponsored ride. The children at the school in India are very poor, and I know we have so much more than them, so it will be good to help them.”
