BUILDING society staff are getting into the Comic Relief spirit – by holding their own knit-a-thon.
The Bedale branch of the Skipton Building Society is holding a Red Nose open day on Friday, March 13, for its fund-raising effort.
From 9am to 5pm there will be homemade cakes, teas and coffee while the knit-a-thon continues.
They aim to have two members of the team continually knitting all day, taking it in turns, to click along with their needles.
They will be knitting squares which will then be sewn together in the hope of making blankets for the labour ward at the Friarage Hospital in Northallerton.
And any customers who donate to Comic Relief can enter a competition to win prizes donated by local businesses.
