ORGANISERS of  North Yorkshire’s biggest acoustic music festival say they are again being sponsored by one of the region's oldest companies.

Theakston's Brewery has agrred so sponsor the three day Bedale Acoustic Music Festival (BAMfest), staged from the Big Sheep and Little Cow farm attraction between Friday, May 31 and Sunday, June 1, and featuring musicians from all over the UK.

Carol Clark, chairman of BAMfest, said: “Theakson’s supported us from the start last year and we are absolutely delighted they are coming on board for 2014.

"We are determined to make BAMfest an annual event that Bedale and North Yorkshire can be proud of. With the help of Theakston’s we are working hard to make the festival even better than last year.

“We have more than 60 performers and lots of family-friendly events so the whole community can enjoy the festival.”

Simon Theakston, executive director of the brewery said: "Once again we are pleased to support Bedale Acoustic Music Festival.

"We were impressed with how last year’s festival was organised and how successful it was. We hope everyone who comes to the area has a really good time.”

There will be 11 concerts featuring Martin Carthy, The Blues Band, Babajack, Jez Lowe, and The Young’uns.

A warm-up concert, featuring Maggie Gee from Redcar, Rooster’s Cat, Mic and Susie Darling and Pat Sherry and Stuart Douglas, will be held at The Riverside Club on Saturday, May 3.
