Raider appeal

A BURGLARY took place at Contemporary hairdressers on Stokesley High Street in the early hours of June 18. Police believe a black BMW 5 Series was involved. If anyone has any CCTV or any other information they are asked to call 101.

Woodland fire

FIRE crews dealt with a blaze in woodland at Catterick. The service received reports of an unsupervised fire in the woods measuring around four square meters just after 6.30pm on Tuesday night. Crews extinguished the fire using a hose reel jet.

Oxfam call

THIRSK Oxfam shop needs people to help it stay open at weekends. The shop is seeking volunteers who can spare four hours at weekends and there is also a Wednesday afternoon vacancy for a till operator. Visit the shop for an application form or call 01845-523081 and ask for Claire.

Veterans meet

A DROP-in session for Ripon veterans and their dependants will be held on July 12 from 10am to 1pm at the RAFA Club, Kirkgate. The first of its kind, it will gauge demand and find out what concerns veterans and their dependents about their support under the Armed Forces Covenant. It is organised by the Veterans Advisory and Pensions Committee.

Quick knit

THERE will be a craft and chat session at the Globe library in Stokesley on June 26 from 2pm to 4pm. The free event is aimed at those with limited dexterity and all welcome. It will start with “quick knitting” an alternative to conventional knitting.
