TWO people were taken to hospital following a fire at a block of flats.
Emergency services rushed to Wheatfield Lane in Haxby on Thursday after a fire broke out in a two-storey building.
Eight fire crews were sent to tackle the flames after the blaze took hold in a first floor flat, causing severe fire damage to the property and those adjacent to it.
A spokesman for the North Yorkshire Fire Service said: “Two residents were taken to hospital but their injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.”
Investigations at the site will continue this morning, with the cause of the fire yet to be determined.
