A PLEDGE has been made by North Yorkshire Police to visit every community in the region in their fight against fraud.
Enhancing their recently launched ‘Take Five North Yorkshire’ fraud awareness campaign, the ambitious plan will see a team of dedicated representatives visit each of 16 neighbourhood policing areas to deliver a roadshow of fraud prevention talks and events.
The force is also extending an invitation to community groups and organisations to ask for an officer to visit and deliver a fraud prevention session.
Detective Inspector Jon Hodgeon, head of the major fraud and economic crime unit, said: “By going into the heart of our communities with our roadshow, we can take fraud prevention advice direct to members of the public, and especially those who are most at risk and are vulnerable.
“We hope that community groups, services and organisations in the county will consider our invitation to pay them a visit.”
